Guardiola won’t stay long at Man City as PSG wants him to be their new head coach

Pep Guardiola thought about his options for the future with Manchester City, even though the leaders would always think of him for the job after Christophe Galtier.

Pep Guardiola replaced Manuel Pellegrini as manager of Manchester City on July 1, 2016, and his contract with the club was recently extended. The Spanish head coach was supposed to stay with the Citizens until June 2024, but that date has been pushed back to June 2025. Even so, the people in charge at Paris Saint-Germain will continue to keep an eye on his situation. Nasser Al-Khelafi hopes that one day he will be able to give control of PSG to Guardiola.

Guardiola won’t stay as long in Man City

Even though Pep Guardiola is happy with his job as manager of the English club Manchester City, he has no plans to stay on the bench like Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger did at Manchester United and Arsenal, respectively. The 51-year-old coach made it clear in comments to the Madrid newspaper Marca that he would not hesitate to give up the role if he no longer thought he could help Man city improve.

“As soon as I think something is wrong, I will either quit or not take advantage of the option to extend my contract. I will not keep acting the same way as Ferguson or Wenger. Guardiola said that the contract was “just a piece of paper,” and then he added, “I’m still committed to the club because I think the team can still be competitive under my leadership.” In the end, it all depends on how things turn out. If we get bored of each other, I won’t stay until the end even though the contract says I have to.
