Arsenal interested in signing Ferran Torres, Iran World Cup star
Premier League leaders Arsenal has indicated an interest in signing Barcelona forward Ferran Torres. It is claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eyeing a reunion with the player he worked with as an assistant coach at Manchester city.
Ferran Torres just joined Barcelona in the last January transfer, but does not seem to be part of coach Xavi’s plans and he might consider a move back to England in search of regular playing time.
Also reports circulating in Portugal as claimed by o jogo the portuguese news outlet indicate that Arsenal are also in the hunt for Iran striker Mehdi Taremi as a replacement for the injured Gabriel Jesus who is set to be out for about 3 months. With Arsenal facing competition from Manchester united to sign Cody Gakpo, Taremi is seen as a capable alternative. The 30-year-old is an experienced campaigner who is valued at about €20million. He’s entering the final 18months of his contract at the club and Porto might be tempted to do business if he refuses to commit his future to the club.
So far he’s enjoying a good season, in which he has scored 13 goals in 20 appearances and five of those goals have come in the champions league where he has helped the Portuguese giants to qualify for the round of 16.
