Maria Okan, a former Nigerian actress, and BBC presenter have refuted reports that she was paid to abort her pregnancy for musician and record executive Olamide Adedeji, better known as Olamide Baddo. On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, she announced it on Twitter.

Good morning. I was never paid to kill, asked for, or given money to kill the child. I heard that narrative when you all did it – when I was eight months old. You claim I made the incorrect decision to carry life, and I should’ve chosen murder? Pele. She tweeted, “I adore parenthood.”
