Tinubu’s campaign organization which made this candid appeal to Obi on Wednesday implored the labour party presidential candidate to talk to his supporters and also let the centre of the elections on the enhancement of the economic growth and progress of the country. The statement as made by Mr Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media and Communication for the Tinubu Campaign organization, sounded a note of warning to Obi and his supporters and asked, who he said were bent on spreading falsehood, maliciousness and were belittling other Presidential aspirants, most especially Tinubu.

The campaign organization advised all seeking the presidential seat to stick to the pertinent issue of good governance and lifting Nigerians out of poverty instead of spitting out wild talks like urchins who don’t wish the country well. Onanuga further said that the Tinubu Campaign organization saw reasons why they should talk to Obi after looking into the fake reports of the Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo, who was said to have asked Tinubu to forfeit his presidential ambition and support Obi because of his health condition.

Onanuga said in response to the rumour, “The Ghanaian president has set the record straight about that rumour, and he has also confirmed that it is false news spread by people who want to mess with people’s minds.” In a tweet, the Ghanaian President was quoted to have said that he didn’t write anything of such manner and had never intended to. Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo said on Twitter, “Ghana and Nigeria have had friendly, strong, and brotherly relations for decades, and I’m not going to get involved in Nigeria’s politics or internal affairs.” The Director of the Tinubu Campaign organization, Onanuga, also revealed that the publishers of that crooked news were a “Biafran fake news site”.

He said that the news went viral because of the repost from several Peter supporters on social media. According to him, the labour party presidential flagbearer’s supporters were mostly Biafra juggernauts. Mr Onanuga pointed out some outrageous news posted on the site, which included a post of Former Lagos state governor Akinwumi Ambode claiming that Tinubu requested a sum of 50 billion Naira monthly payment from him while he was governor.
