Ruger, the afrobeat legend, is at odds with BNXN again following the publication of BNXN’s sophomore EP ‘Bad Since 97.’ Afrobeats superstar BNXN released his sophomore EP named ‘Bad Since 97’ on Thursday, August 25th, 2022.
Following the release, BNXN rushed to Twitter to celebrate his album reaching the top of Nigeria’s Apple Music Album Chart. BNXN captioned the photo, “What if I, What if I, What if I…Cook,” which is most likely a reference to Ruger’s famous tune “Girlfriend.” The message is a disguised jab at Ruger, with whom he recently spat publicly about his hitmaker credentials.
Ruger responds: BNXN’s usage of a riff on Ruger’s lyrics irritated the Nigerian Ragga monarch. Ruger responded with an unexpected tweet, “Get a single hit then talk to me fatty bum,” an open assault on BNXN. Ruger previously stated that BNXN does not have a solo hit. Hence they are not on the same level.

Nonetheless, I adore Buju. He’s competent but not superior to me. Since the beginning, everything I’ve done has been RUGER. JUST RUGER is responsible for all of my hits. I’m always pleased to go on stage worldwide, my passion, and have everyone singing along with me. “Can you tell the difference?” The tweet stated. BNXN told fans to look forward to his new album in August, saying, “Back then, but you see now?”
