Senator Magnus Abe says that he left the All Progressive Congress (APC) to seek a greener pasture. This frank statement was made on the TVC programme yesterday.

Senator Magnus Abe is the factional leader of the All Progressive Congress in the River state. He has been said to exit the party to fulfil his wish to govern another state. His news has been pulling the internet since last week. It was alleged that a resignation letter was signed by Senator Magnus Abe which was addressed to the national party chairman. This act of his went viral online which has been a topic for discussion.

His Facebook account denied the fact that he issued a letter. The letter was made available to the newsmen in Port Harcourt by his spokesman Mr Parry Benson. The letter confirmed that he has left the All Progressive Congress in search of greener pasture.

The statement in the letter does not give an insight into the 2023 governorship aspirant. Sources which informed The Guardian newspaper have it that representative of Rivers South-East Senatorial District at the National Assembly was making a move to join the Social Democratic Party. The senator has made a lot of efforts to govern Rivers State in 2015. All his effort ended in ashes as he had a crisis with the then Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.

Senator Magnus Abe claims to be part of the APC family

Senator Magnus Abe distinctly makes claims to be part of the All Progressive Congress family. The senator claims the fact that he has left the party but the resignation letter which was circulating online, he said it does not come from him.

Discursively, he said he is still part of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s family. He opined that he has no issue in any way with him. He instantaneously denies the letter which was released by his spokesman. He said he has no interest in the All Progressive Congress (APC) in rivers state. He continues in his speech by saying he doesn’t know anyone else in the party apart from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu going for the presidential seat.

Senator Magnus Abe said that his future is not tied to the APC and so it is clear that he is no more among its members. He made it clear in his speech that the letter flying around is not orchestrated by him. He quickly added that a lot of things will unfold but the issue between him and APC has decided a long time ago. He said he is not part of APC as far as River state is concerned.
