On Monday, Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable criticized Smooth Productions, the organizers of the prestigious Nigerian music awards, The Headies, for disqualifying him from the honour.

On Sunday, the 15th edition of the Headies award presentation was held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Portable, who had previously been nominated for an award in one of the categories, was barred from the event after threatening to harm his fellow candidates if the organizers would not recognize him.

The comments prompted Headies organizers to remove his name from the list of nominees. During an Instagram live session on Monday, the musician slammed the Headies organizers for his treatment. Portable wrote: I enjoy it when life is difficult. It signifies that something greater is on the way; nothing escapes God. I am bigger than the proprietor of Headies and the whole organizing committee. I’ll always be more popular than them.
