Okowa on Peter Obi Presidential seat bid

He lacks the required experience to lead Nigeria. The Governor of Delta State and running mate to the PDP Presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has said that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, lacks the required experience to govern Nigeria.

Okowa, who spoke to BBC Pidgin confessed that Mr Obi indeed gained a wealth of experience from being a governor for 8 years, but the experience he considered not “big” enough to lead Nigeria. I didn’t mean to make it sound like he wouldn’t get votes; of course, he will get them. He is popular, but his experience is not enough to rescue Nigeria. His experience won’t be enough to win him this, it will be very hard. The experience he has is not deep enough.

I (Okowa), a current sitting Governor, can tell you how hard it was for me to tackle the crisis in my state. I even want to learn these crisis-resolving skills from my boss, Atiku, because he has that full wealth of experience, having worked at various levels of the Federal government. “Okowa said.

In other news, A former  presidential aspirant of the All progressive party (APC), Sk  Ogbonnia has thrown away his political attachment with his party’s presidential flag bearer to support Peter Obi the presidential candidate from the labour party for the 2023 presidential elections.

He gave his reason for supporting the Candidature of Obi to be because the labour party aspirant is a ‘democratic revolutionary’ who is most needed at this time.

“I will still be a member of the All Progressives Congress, but I will not vote for Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate in 2023,” he said, according to a direct quote. When given the choice, it was hard to decide to vote for the candidate of the other party. But at a time at some point where you have to say, “Enough is enough.”

Mr Obi who is the labour party presidential candidate for the 2023 election, has received massive support across the nation, especially on social media, but this has been faced with lots of backlashes from various quarters.
