Manchester United, who defeated Liverpool 2-1 on Monday night at Old Trafford to earn their first win of the year, expect to make a new bid for the 22-year-old player before the transfer market closes the following week. Manchester United has had the Brazilian on their radar for the whole of the summer and they are still eager to bolster their offensive options before the bell.
Manchester United prepares Transfer
Even before the transfer market had officially opened, Ten Hag had already established the Brazilian as his main target to bolster his options on the right wing. Manchester United’s interest eventually waned as a result of Ajax’s decision to demand a high payment for the Brazilian’s services.

However, Manchester United have recently reignited their interest in the winger, so there is still a chance that he will sign with Old Trafford before the deadline of September 1 at 11 p.m. Over the weekend, it became known that the Brazilian had declared a “strike” to push through a transfer to M16.
He was allegedly absent from training sessions on Friday and Saturday before being omitted from the starting lineup for Ajax’s 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday. Together with his agents, Antony is attempting to persuade Ajax to bargain with United.
Ajax, however, is steadfast. They are refusing to accept anything less than an offer of almost €100 million (£84.15 million), demonstrating how far United may be required to stretch its financial resources.
But the Brazilian will be happy if United can appease Ajax and convince Antony to join them at Old Trafford. Since he arrived in Amsterdam from Sao Paulo two years ago, he has been a tremendous fan of Ten Hag and has enjoyed working with him.
In a previous interview with the Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Antony claimed that “every player under his leadership develops as a footballer via his training.” He has a lot of faith in my talents and has given me a lot of confidence while I’ve been here.
Ten Hag is a tremendous fan of Antony, and their friendship is reciprocal. He admires the Brazilian’s qualities, but he has previously advised him to pay a little more attention to the fundamentals. Ten Hag advised him to focus on his football. Although the action presented a significant threat, he must intercept the pass without considering any embellishments.
