Ajax needs £76.3m As Manchester United Continue To Negotiate For Antony

Antony

Ajax rebuffed Manchester United’s £76.3 million (€90 million) deal for Brazil international, Antony; the winger previously worked with United manager Erik Ten Hag at the Eredivisie winners; discussions between the two teams continue ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline. The 22-year-old has been sought after by United for some weeks, and last week, the club rejected a £67.9 million (€80 million) approach from United.

Manchester Bargains For Antony But Ajax Refused

According to a source, Ajax wants at least €100 million (£84.8 million), but they are not under any obligation to sell and believe they have little time to find a replacement. United is ready to back out of the agreement, but it’s believed that time has not yet come.

However, United is still considering its options. They also keep an eye on where Barcelona attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is at all times. Cody Gakpo of PSV Eindhoven continues to pique United’s interest. It has been said that signing Antony and Gakpo together is unlikely but not impossible. The latest sign that Antony wants to move to Old Trafford was his exclusion from the Ajax squad for last Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Sparta Rotterdam. However, the Eredivisie champions have resisted United’s improved offer.

Antony Talks on Ajax Refusal

Anthony told the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Friday that his agents have been travelling to Amsterdam since February of this year to let Ajax know that he wants to leave the club and also take on a new challenge.

According to Antony, the meetings finished throughout the window months, and Ajax made a suggestion for a contract extension. Anthony again stated his desire to leave the club.
During the board meeting they had, Antony expressed his interest in leaving the club and this time had a sizable offer on the table. Others have already come, but Ajax consistently objects because it has only five days to replace him.

Antony

Antony said that he is not asking Alfred Schreuder to release him, he asked for him to sell him as the player who receives the best bid for an Eredivisie player. By joining United, Antony would be reunited with former manager Erik ten Hag, who has already signed defender Lisandro Martinez from his old team. Anthony said that he was really pleased in Amsterdam, and he won titles, met friends, and developed part of his career, but now he is ready and full of enthusiasm to follow his tale and his aspirations.

He said that People need to pay attention to him and comprehend how his motivation leads to happiness. To keep putting forth his best effort, he requires this. The two teams are still in contact before the transfer deadline on September 1 even if they rejected the most recent offer. Alfred Schreuder, the manager of Ajax, said earlier this week that he was convinced Antony would stay at the club and seemed to poke fun at the fact that United isn’t participating in the Champions League.
