Ekiti State: INEC to replicate success recorded in the governorship polls

INEC – Osun State’s electoral success was magnanimous as The Centre for democracy and development called The Independent National Electoral Commission to replicate the success Ekiti and Osun states had in their governorship election ahead of the 2023 general election.

The election was tagged to be the best governorship election as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) emerged the winner with their candidate Senator Ademola Adeleke. The CDD was impressed over the Osun state poll as they likened it to that of the Ekiti State governorship election.

It is a thing of joy to see Nigeria grow. The election in the state recorded no violence. It was free and fair as everyone cast their vote in peace. The preparation made by The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was distinct. They were seen to collaborate effectively with stakeholders especially security agents, civil society organizations (CSO), ICPC (Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission), EFCC e.t.c

The collaboration made the election a peaceful one. Everyone cast their vote with ease of mind. The peace remained even after the declaration of the results.

Ekiti State: INEC praised by The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD)

Following the well-organized election by INEC, the CDD has no other choice than to commend their effective work. The CDD was impressed with the free and fair election and they had to praise them.
Upon the surprise that caught the CDD, they said this kind of electoral process must be imitated. The Guardian newspaper reports that the CDD called on INEC to replicate the success of the governorship election in both states.

The CDD went further to praise all the election stakeholders. They described their well-done work as a positive performance which they want them to maintain. They are very pleased with the peaceful outcome of the election amidst the possibility of violent disruption of the election. The CDD can’t express their joy enough. They had to show it by replicating the electoral success in the coming general election.

Gazing at the 2023 upcoming general election, the CDD urges INEC and the stakeholders to maintain a cordial working relationship to see to the peace of the oncoming election. However, the CDD has called on presidential contestants to adopt the true spirit of sportsmanship. Upon the adoption of this true spirit, the defeated will be graceful. Thereby limiting unnecessary ruse.

The victorious should also exhibit magnanimity because democracy grows with such virtue.
