Cristiano Ronaldo has made a return to Real Madrid, but this time only to train with the facilities at the Valdebebas training ground. Reports have it that Ronaldo trained alone on Wednesday as he looks to improve his fitness ahead of a potential move in January.

Ronaldo who is unattached at the moment, and has just returned from the World Cup following Portugal’s exit at the hands of Morocco in the quarter-final, is believed to have asked for permission from the club and his request was granted, with him training on his own in a separate pitch away from the Madrid first team.

Ronaldo’s relationship with Madrid got sour when he left in 2018 for Juventus but it has gotten much better since then. Ronaldo who is Madrid’s top goalscorer in history and won four champions league titles and two La Liga titles in his time there was linked to a return to the Santiago Bernabeu but he went on to rejoin united instead.

His second spell has not gone according to plan as his contract was terminated in November after a controversial interview was released in which he criticized the club and the coach, Erik Ten Hag.

Ronaldo who was instrumental in Portugal winning the Euros in 2016 had an underwhelming World cup campaign as he was dropped by coach Fernando Santos and he scored just a single goal; a penalty against Ghana in five appearances at the tournament.

He remains continually linked with a move to Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia in January, although he has come out to deny that a deal has been agreed upon.
