
Emerging reports have it that Chelsea is on the verge of signing 19-year-old Ivory Coast international David Datro Fofana from Molde for a fee of £9million as a replacement for injured striker Armando Broja.
The Albanian striker is set to miss the rest of the season after scans revealed that he tore his ACL while going in for a challenge with defender Ezri Konsa during their friendly match in Abu Dhabi. The injury left Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the only senior Chelsea striker, and they have move quickly in search of a replacement and it seems they have found one.
With Belgium striker out on loan to Inter Milan, with no recall option, the blues have been frantic in their search for a backup option and they have identified Ivorian David Fofana who plays for Molde in the Norwegian Eliteserien as per Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian posted on his twitter account that a deal has been agreed and Chelsea are on the verge of signing him, subject to personal terms being agreed.

The Ivorian who stands at about 6ft tall, is a similar kind of player to Broja and despite only breaking in to the Molde side in 2021, he went on to enjoy a fine campaign in which he scored 19 goals in 34 appearances for the Norwegian giants. His impressive performances also earned him a call up and subsequent cap for the Ivory coast when he played for the against Burundi in a 4-0 friendly win
