Governor Ibikunle Amosun fights his party (Allied Progressive Movement)

In Ogun state history, in 1999, there was Governor Olusegun Osoba was made president of the state and his legacies are still remembered today even though he spent only one term. A governor emerged and messed up the whole political structure when contending with arrogance. Gbenga Daniel was humbled and corrected even though some of his properties were seized, he is trying all he could to get himself together.

Ibikunle Amosun was another governor who came in peacefully in Ogun state but having a taste of power becomes a tyrant. When he was about to finish his second term, installing a successor through the APC platform was made impossible. Amosun fought against his party (the Allied Progressive movement) because he was unable to install a successor.

When his place of power was checked, atrocities were found in his bank including an uncompleted project that has been duly paid for and the accumulation of arms.
Ibikunle Amosun even after allegations are raised, did not stop to hurl stones at the people before him. This was achieved through a consistent fight on the social media space. Ibikunle Amosun was allegedly seen inspecting projects even when he is no more in power at Abeokuta.
Abiodun who has been patient enough ignored all the shenanigans even the crisis going on on social media, he left the case in the hands of the supreme court. When they see that what has been done couldn’t work, they quickly pulled up a piece of fake news that portrayed the government as an ex-convict who forged documents which was utterly a lie.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun said the election that brought in Governor Dapo Abiodun was rigged but the people that rigged it has come to apologize to him. This was the statement he made when he was receiving an award in Abeokuta. In light of his statement, the centre for Good governance asks the Nigerian police force to invite him for questioning.

Ibikunle Amosun stands on his claims while he knows fully well that rigging of election is a felony. The Apex court has declared the election was won fairly even the international observers attested to this. Now, the DSS and Police are dragging him. In this, his arrogance was made known to the people.

Power is a corruptor if not duly maintained. Governor Ibikunle Amosun rose to power and mishandle it. The abuse of power was made evident when he said people rigged Governor Dapo Abiodun’s election which the supreme court has said, it wasn’t rigged and the international observers.
His arrogancy was made evident, the DSS and Police are holding him tightly for his own words.
